About

PIONEERING EV-GRID INTEGRATION

Our Mission

The GREET initiative focuses on seamless integration of electric vehicles into power grids, addressing critical technological, societal, and policy challenges to enable India's sustainable mobility transition.

  • Developing smart charging infrastructure for mass EV adoption
  • Advancing vehicle-to-grid (V2G) bidirectional energy systems
  • Assessing grid impacts and developing mitigation strategies
  • Formulating policy frameworks for sustainable EV integration

Our consortium brings together premier institutions including IIT Kanpur (lead), IIT Delhi, IIT Madras, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Roorkee, NITs, and industry partners to create holistic solutions for India's electrified mobility future.

Our Goals

EV Grid Impact Assessment

Development of comprehensive methodologies for impact assessment of large-scale EV integration on grid.

Grid Control Algorithms

Control algorithms for grid as well as EV-charging stations for stable operation of grid, including control strategies for grid forming converters in EV charging stations during grid outages.

Optimal Charging Station Planning

Optimal planning of EV charging stations with existing power network upgrade, ancillary service support from EV charging stations and other co-existing renewable energy sources (RESs).

Universal Charging Infrastructure

Development of portable field-tested hardware for low cost and low power universal charging infrastructure.

High-Power EV Chargers

Development of high-power EV chargers, including high-density wireless chargers, solid-state transformer-based grid interface for EV fast charging station.

EV Adoption Policies

Comprehensive polices for EV adoption, community engagement, manpower training, and regulatory frameworks .

Technology Deployment

Prototype development, field deployment, and industry adoption of developed high-TRL technologies.
